Simmered ayu fish with sweet soy sauce – 子持ち鮎の甘露煮 – 1尾

Founded at the end of the Edo period, this tsukudani (a sweetfish with its belly full of eggs), is handmade by a long-established tsukudani maker.

The ayu with its belly full of eggs, can only be caught in autumn and is specially produced for the rice factory customers.

Considered as Gifu’s autumn treasures, this moderate fatty fish with its belly full of roe is indescribably delicious. 

□Ingredients
Ayu fish, soy sauce (including wheat and soybeans), sugar, sake, mirin, ginger, caramel color (caramel color is an ingredient of soy sauce)

□How to eatz
Although ready to consume out the bag, we would recommend putting the tsukudani (while still in the packaging) in boiling water for 10 minutes.
